ISAMRA to Create Historic Landmark: First Time in Indian History Musicians & Chorus Singers Will Receive Royalties

The
Indian Singers’ and Musicians’ Rights Association (ISAMRA) will create history
with a landmark step announced at its 12th Annual General Meeting. For the
first time in Indian music history, royalties will be distributed not only to
singers but also to musicians, chorus singers, and session artists.

The
musicians and chorus singers will receive their royalties at the hands of
Sanjay Tandon, Founder and MD — ISAMRA, along with legendary artistes Sonu
Nigam, Anup Jalota, Hariharan, Udit Narayan, Anuradha Paudwal, Jaspinder
Narula, Sudesh Bhosale, Shailendra Singh, and others.

In
its first phase, 62 musicians out of 88 members and 40 chorus singers out of 61
will receive their dues, with more to follow as additional details are
furnished by Musicians & Chorus Singers. ISAMRA will distribute ₹4.5 crore
in royalties to non-featured musicians and singers. Top 5-performing tracks
such as Kesariya, Raatan Lambiyaan, Rangi Saari, Srivalli, and Bijli Bijli have
generated royalties for musicians, while chorus singers will benefit from their
contributions to evergreen songs like Kal Ho Na Ho, Phir Bhi Dil Hai
Hindustani, Ladki Badi Anjaani Hai, Ji Huzoor, and Saat Samundar Paar.

Sanjay Tandon, CEO of ISAMRA, stated:

“This
will be a first in Indian history. Never before have musicians and chorus
singers received royalties. We have fought for this for years, and now I stand
proud to see it become reality. Together with singers, musicians and chorus
singers will now be getting their royalties. With 62 musicians and 40 chorus
singers set to receive royalties, this is only the beginning. The most
difficult part will be identifying non-featured artistes, and their meta data.
We urge them to come forward and become ISAMRA members and assist in furthering
Performer's Rights in India. We will be more than happy to see them benefit
from the rights that are rightfully theirs.”

With
this landmark step, ISAMRA will ensure that every note — whether sung or played
— will finally be valued, rewriting the future of the Indian music ecosystem.

Navratri and Maha Ashtami: Union of Power and Peace (Special Message from Dhyan Guru Raghunath Guruji and Divya Shanti Parivar)

Pune, September
2025 : The morning ambience, fragrance of incense and lamps in the temple
courtyard, the echo of mantras, and the devotees’ concentrated prayers — this
was the scene at the Navratri Sadhana organized by Divya Shanti Parivar. With
flowers in hand, barley sprouts and a sacred pot before them, and the sound of
Om chanting filling the atmosphere — the entire campus seemed immersed in power
and peace.

Spiritual
Importance of Navratri

Dhyan Guru
Raghunath Guruji addressed the devotees and said, “Navratri is not just a
festival, it is a period of self-purification and inner strength. Each day we
worship a different form of the Goddess, and each form bestows a unique power
and virtue upon us. Even Lord Rama performed this sadhana before the battle
with Ravana to invoke divine strength.”

Barley Sprouting
and the Environment

During
Ghatasthapana, when barley seeds are sown as part of the Navratri rituals,
their sprouting is not only a sacred tradition but also a symbolic way of
reading nature’s signs. Culturally, people observe the color and growth of the
barley to predict agricultural and environmental conditions.

If the sprouts grow
tall and green, it is believed to signify favorable weather ahead — a promise
of good rainfall, fertile soil, and an abundant harvest. On the other hand, if
the sprouts appear yellowish or stunted, it is taken as an omen of imbalance in
seasonal patterns, hinting at irregular rainfall or agricultural challenges.

This ancient
observation reflects the deep bond between rituals and ecological awareness in
Indian traditions. Long before modern meteorology, communities turned to such
natural indicators to connect spiritual practice with environmental balance,
blending faith, agriculture, and sustainability into one holistic worldview.

Maha Ashtami:
The Pinnacle of Sadhana

The most
significant day of Navratri is Maha Ashtami. From early morning, temples were
filled with devotees. Some places witnessed Kanya Pujan while others prepared
for havan.

Guruji explained,
“On Ashtami, divine power reaches its peak. Worship of Goddess Kaalratri and
Mahagauri removes ignorance and fear, and ushers in purity and peace. A
collective ‘Om Havan’ fills the atmosphere with positivity.”

Moon and Balance
of Ashtami

From Full Moon
(Purnima) to Ashtami, the moon gradually decreases in size. The flow of light
and energy also changes, which can subtly affect sleep, mood, and mental state.

On Ashtami, the
moon is about 50% illuminated and 50% dark — symbolizing balance. This state
brings a harmonizing effect on both mind and body.

As the moon wanes
further towards Amavasya (New Moon), darkness increases, often influencing
sleep and mood with a deeper, quieter effect.

Scientific
Significance of Ashtami – 7 Positive Aspects

(Dhyan Guru
Raghunath Guruji – Divya Shanti Parivar)

Moon’s Balance (50%
illumination): On Ashtami, the half-moon symbolizes balance between light and darkness,
naturally stabilizing the mind for meditation and sadhana.

Full
Moon–Ashtami–New Moon Cycle: The waxing and waning of the moon can affect sleep
and mood. Ashtami, being a middle stage, is seen as a balanced phase — a
hypothesis worth scientific exploration.

Mental Calmness: Research shows lunar cycles can subtly influence mood. Ashtami
provides a balanced state — neither overly stimulating nor overly lethargic.

Benefits of Om
Chanting: Studies (HRV, fMRI) link chanting Om with
reduced stress and better nervous system balance. On Ashtami, its effects feel
even deeper.

Environmental
Benefits of Havan: Medicinal offerings in a havan
purify the air and reduce microbial load, creating a positive vibration in the
environment.

Union of
Energies: On Ashtami, the coolness of the moon and the
warmth of the sacred fire come together, harmonizing body, mind, and
consciousness.

Ideal Time for
Sadhana: Meditation and chanting on Ashtami are
considered more receptive, as cosmic balance and purified surroundings give the
practitioner a profound experience.

Power and Peace
in Harmony

The symbolic union
of the fire’s warmth and the moon’s coolness is the essence of Maha Ashtami.
Guruji said, “Power alone is not enough. The purpose of power is to bring
compassion and peace. That is the real meaning of Maha Ashtami sadhana.”

Social Message

During the
collective aarti, men, women, and children all prayed to Goddess Durga
together. Guruji said, “The Divine Mother is not just for one family, but for
the whole universe. Worshiping her is meant for the welfare of all humanity.”

Conclusion

The festival of
Navratri and Maha Ashtami reminds us that life requires both power and peace in
balance.

Divya Shanti
Parivar resolved that through collective sadhana and positive energy, not only
individuals but families, society, and the entire w

Is Now the Best Time to Buy Car Insurance After GST Reduction? Find Out

In a significant move aimed at boosting the automobile
sector, the Government of India has recently announced a reduction in Goods and
Services Tax (GST) rates across various vehicle categories. This change is
expected to make vehicles more affordable, especially in the small and medium
segments, thereby encouraging first-time buyers and expanding household
mobility.

Understanding the GST Reduction

The revised
GST rates are as follows:

Small Cars

The GST rate for small cars is reduced from 28% to
18%.

This
makes them more accessible for first-time buyers and enhances mobility for
     households.
This
GST reduction is likely to boost sales in smaller cities and towns, where
small cars are the most popular choice.
Increased
sales will create positive ripple effects for car dealerships, service
     centers, drivers, and auto-finance providers.
This
reduction applies to petrol/LPG/CNG cars with engines under 1,200 cc and
up to 4 metres in length, and diesel cars under 1,500 cc and up to 4
     metres in length

Large/Luxury Cars

The GST reduced to a flat 40% with no cess.

Eliminating
the additional cess not only lowers the overall tax rate but also
simplifies and makes taxation more predictable.
Even
at 40%, the removal of the cess effectively reduces the tax burden on
larger cars, making them more attainable for aspirational buyers.

Impact on Car Insurance

With the potential reduction in vehicle prices, the
cost of car insurance premiums is also expected to decrease. Insurance premiums
are often linked to the Insured Declared Value (IDV) of the vehicle, which is
directly influenced by the vehicle's market price. Therefore, as vehicle prices
become more affordable, the IDV decreases, leading to a reduction in insurance
premiums.

"The recent GST rate cuts present a unique
opportunity for consumers to invest in car insurance at more affordable
rates," says Vinodh Sundareswaran, Head of Taxation, Royal
Sundaram. "We encourage potential buyers to take advantage of this window
to secure comprehensive coverage for their vehicles."

Why Now is the Right Time

Lower
Premiums: Reduced vehicle prices lead to lower
     insurance premiums.
Enhanced
     Coverage Options: With more affordable
premiums, consumers can opt for comprehensive coverage that includes
third-party liability, own damage, and personal accident cover.
Increased
Vehicle Sales: The GST reduction is expected
to boost vehicle sales, leading to a larger pool of insured vehicles and a
     more competitive insurance market.

Act Now For Maximum Savings

The recent GST reduction has made vehicles more
affordable, and consequently, car insurance premiums have also decreased. This
presents an excellent opportunity for consumers to invest in comprehensive car
insurance coverage. By comparing policies and understanding the terms, you can
ensure your vehicle is adequately protected without straining your finances.

"Lower GST on insurance premiums is not just
about affordability—it is about empowerment. By reducing financial barriers,
more car owners will find it easier to secure high-quality coverage. Royal
Sundaram welcomes the move, and we are committed to helping customers make the
most of this advantageous timing,” says Vinodh Sundareswaran, Head of Taxation, Royal
Sundaram.
